Blogger by default, and other blogging software such as WordPress, automatically adds the "nofollow" microformat extension to all links from user generated content. User generated content is defined as comments or external sources such as linkbacks and trackbacks.
I support the people of the blogging community who have chosen to remove NoFollow for blog comments and linkbacks/trackbacks and I highly recommend others to do so.
Removing the "nofollow" attribute will help people who are giving you comments to increase their website/blog PR (Page Rank). I currently set the lower limit to 1 for my blog, so feel free to comment, 1 comment/user will help you raise your PR :)

Cornell -- thanks for the link.
One thing people need to do is use the "Nickname" feature when leaving comments. Do not use your Blogger Identity.
When you use the Blogger Identity, the link is to your Profile at Blogger. All the links on that page are, of course, Nofollow. Same goes for links to other identities such as AOL, LiveJournal, OpenID, etc.
Ooops. I just left a comment to my profile after telling people not to do that. Stupid me.
anonymous is right.. corni, don't use the blogger identity.. because it sucks..
U just did =))
That's nice, I guess everybody should act like you...
Great stuff Cornell. NoFollow Free is a much more reasonable apporoach for bloggers. With Aksimet catching most spam comments, there really is no need to punish your commenters.
Thank you for the heads up, especially on not using the blogger id to post a comment!
I switched of my nofollow today, Lets free the Web
Johannes
